A FORMER Gladstone resident has taken the gamble of her life but luckily it paid off.

Kel Howard, who was a host on the 4CC breakfast show for six years, appeared on last night's episode of Channel 7's Deal or No Deal.

Ms Howard said she and her partner Matt Adame loved the show so they dug into their wedding savings to get down there.

"We took a gamble."

It was well worth it though with the pair walking away with $23,000.

"We were really happy with it," Ms Howard said.

She said now they had a lot more money in the bank to go towards their wedding.

"Our honeymoon destination has stepped up a bit," Ms Howard said.

"We are going to Vanuatu for nine days."
