Jobe Watson signs on with Bombers for next four years

BRONLOW medallist Jobe Watson has ended speculation about his future by agreeing to a four-year deal with the Bombers.

Watson, the son of Essendon champion Tim, joined the club in 2002 under the father-son rule, and has gone on to play 163 games in the red-and-black.

The 28-year-old would have been a restricted free agent at the end of this season, meaning the Bombers would have needed to match offers made by rival clubs to keep the star midfielder.

Eleven other players, including Hawks champion Lance Franklin, will become restricted free agents at the end of this season.
