Police manhunt: a woman dragged into bushes kicks free

DETECTIVES in Coffs Harbour are hunting a man who dragged a woman into bushland and attempted to sexually assault her on Thursday night.

A 22-year-old woman told police she was walking west along Arthur St at Park Beach, when she was grabbed from behind.

She said the man attempted to sexually assault her but she was able to kick him and break free before running home.

The woman was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

She was unable to provide a description of the man but police are urging anyone who witnessed the attack or saw anyone acting suspicious in the area to come forward.
