James Ashby says Pauline Hanson has hired Trump adviser

PAULINE Hanson's adviser James Ashby has told a gathering in Rockhampton that the controversial right-wing senator has asked an economist advising Donald Trump to come to Australia.

Ashby told media late yesterday the unnamed economist was from the 'Trump camp' and had come to Australia at the request of Ms Hanson.

The One Nation spokesman declined to tell any media who the person was.

Ms Hanson was in Rockhampton to host a community forum.

She has drawn comparisons in the past with Trump's hard stance on immigration and Islam.

In her maiden speech to the Australian Senate earlier this week, Hanson said Australia was now in danger of being swamped by Muslims.

It echoed her maiden speech almost exactly 20 years ago, from her time as an MP in the House of Representatives, when she said Australia was in danger of being swamped by Asians.
