Its time to clean up Ballina Shire

ON Sunday, March 4, it's time to get down and get dirty and pick up rubbish.

It's Clean Up Australia Day, and there are eight sites in Ballina Shire registered on the official Clean Up website - at Alstonville, in Ballina, East Ballina and a couple of sites on the southern side of the Richmond River.

Around-the-world yachtie Ian Kiernan, AO, started the annual event in 1989 with a clean-up of Sydney Harbour.

To get involved at a local site, see the website cleanupaustraliaday.
