It’s a new era

A NEW era for Masons in the area began last Saturday night.

A consolidation ceremony was held at the Ballina Masonic Hall to form the new Lodge Ballina United 250.

The new lodge is an amalgamation of Lodge Ballina, Lodge Bangalow and the Richmond Valley Daylight Lodge.

Bob le Bas is the Worshipful Master of the new lodge, which was formed because of declining numbers in the three lodges.

But Ballina United Lodge 250 has about 60 members, and Mr le Bas said he was now looking to the future.

Lodge Ballina and Lodge Bangalow were both more than 100 years old.
