MAFS nice bloke’s shock link to ‘f**K Australia’ activist
POPULAR Married at First Sight participant, Telverne, is believed to be the brother of the Aboriginal activist who called for Australia to "burn to the ground" during an Australia Day protest last week.
Telverne and Invasion Day protest organiser Tarneen Onus-Williams, were pictured together in a photo posted to Facebook with the caption "Siblings", according to the Daily Mail.
Two others also appeared in the photo.
Ms Onus-Williams, 24, called for Australia to abolished, "not just Australia Day". She made headlines after screaming "f--- Australia, I hope it burns to the ground" during the march, and has refused to apologise for her outburst, which she said was not meant to be taken literally.
"It was a strong statement, but I am not going to apologise for it," she told Fairfax.
"It was a metaphor, not actually a statement to be taken literally.
"I just want everything, all the governments to fall apart, because our people are dying and nobody cares and the whole system needs to change," she said.
According to the Daily Mail, Ms Onus-Williams has also spoken about Telverne on her blog, writing that he "helped raise her" and "taught her to throw her middle finger up".
Telverne, 34, "married" 38-year-old beauty therapist Sarah on Monday night's show, and the Perth-based mechanical fitter quickly proved popular with viewers.
The Perth-based single dad was praised for being a "real man" and the "nicest bloke on the show".
The Married at First Sight couple have already gained plenty of support from viewers, with Twitter users saying they hope the pair make it.
