OCEAN Shores swimmer Tristan Ludlow has been selected for the Fina World Junior Championships in Singapore.
He was also one of seven boys selected for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa later this year.
Tristan, 17, gained selection off the back of his performances at the Australian Age Championships in Sydney.
He came first the 200m backstroke with a personal best time in the 17/18 age division.
He backed it up by finishing third in the 400m freestyle.
Tristan attended Brunswick Heads primary school and Kingscliff high School before he was offered a scholarship at Toowoomba.
He stayed there for 18 months and is now at St Peters Lutheran College at Indooroopilly in Brisbane.
He is also on a scholarship there and spends multiple hours training during the week before coming home on weekends.
Tristan is no stranger to success in the pool.
He broke a national record in his age division in the 200m backstroke at the Australian Championships two years ago.
Last year he was the under-16 boys Australian champion in the same event.
Thirty kids from all over Australia will attend the junior championships in Singapore.
He will be in an Australian team of 14 the following month when he heads to Samoa in September.
