As part of the criteria for his Duke of Edinburgh Award, Jayde needs to complete 60 hours of work experience.

Each week Jayde submits a USB with audio files he creates through a program where does things like introducing upcoming songs and gaming topics which goes live on Fraser Coast Community Radio FM

Jayde also has his own YouTube channel called GraveDigger67 which is all about his love for gaming.

The passionate teenager was diagnosed with an intellectual impairment when he was in grade one and later found out he was legally blind.

Jayde can't see at night and during the day he doesn't see a lot of detail and he gets colours mixed up

But he never lets his health conditions get in the way of his goals and dreams.

"I can't change it so why should I let it ruin my life," Jayde said.

When he was younger he remembers saying to his mum "I can't watch the Simpson's in black and white."

Jayde's other achievements include winning the Caltex award which is given to the student of the year and he's also been granted his silver and bronze Duke of Edinburgh awards.

He hopes to fulfil his dream of getting the gold award and would like to grow his YouTube channel.
