ANGELA Adrian can pronounce herself the trivia whiz of the Northern Rivers, and that will give the Ballina woman a chance to win $1 million.
That's because she won, in the Northern Rivers trivia challenge, a trip to Melbourne for an audition on Channel Nine's Millionaire Hot Seat, skipping the prior casting sessions. Angela has some extra studying to do before she heads to the southern capital in June because she currently doesn't own a television and has never seen the show.
The Southern Cross University lecturer has been in Australia for 12 months, and she said she will be Googling the TV game show to see how it works.
As for the trivia, the challenge was organised to support Lennox Head man Terry Phillis' fundraising efforts for ChildFund Australia's project supporting children in East Timor - he is raising money for the organisation and for his entry in the April 15 42km Paris marathon. The final round of the trivia competition was held last week, and Angela, who represented the Sassy Salsa team, won against her five competitors.
She admits she is a "real geek". "I remember all sorts of really random things," she said.
In the final round, all the finalists were able to be supported by a "friend" from their team, so Angela said her effort was a team effort.
