Improved Tigers too good for Titans

WESTS Tigers halves Luke Brooks and Braith Anasta bounced back from heavy round-one criticism to help engineer a 42-12 victory over a disappointing Titans on the Gold Coast yesterday.

In oppressive conditions, Brooks and Anasta showed marked improvement in attack, with Brooks scoring a try.

Tigers winger Pat Richards showed he would be a handy asset to his new team after eight years in the UK Super League, notching up two tries and a staggering 237m.

His second, which came from a good finish out wide following impressive lead-up play from hooker Robbie Farah, gave the visitors a 16-6 lead.

The Tigers extended that to 22-6 lead at halftime, but it could have been more had Martin Taupau been awarded a try which was controversially disallowed.

The visitors went on with it in the second half with tries to David Nofoaluma, Taupau and Brooks.
