Iggy Azalea given cameo role in Fast and Furious 7

MULLUMBIMBY-raised rapper Iggy Azalea's star continues to rise with her latest adventure seeing her jump from stage to the big screen in the cult hit series Fast and Furious.

The global music sensation will star alongside Hollywood hunk Vin Diesel in the seventh instalment of the racing franchise.

Diesel let the news of Azalea's appearance in the film slip during an interview with French radio station Skyrock FM this week.

"Iggy Azalea, I just worked with her two weeks ago," he said.

"I guess you'll be the first person that knows this, we cast her in Fast and Furious 7.

"She has a cameo in Fast and Furious 7."

The eyes of fans worldwide will be on Fast and Furious 7 after the death of popular actor Paul Walker while the movie was still being filmed.

Walker was a passenger in a Porsche driven by friend Roger Rodas when the car collided with a tree and burst into flames on November 30, last year.

Azalea's cameo follows the appearance of Rita Ora, who she collaborated with for the song Black Widow, in Fast and Furious 6.

This week, Black Widow climbed into the US iTunes top 20 charts for the first time.

From the big to the small screen, Azalea will display her talents as the new host of MTV's House of Style, which premiers on on August 4.

The success of her hits Fancy and Problem with Ariana Grande, 24-year-old Azalea is nominated for seven, 2015 MTV Music Video of the Year awards.
