How a mum helps capture couple's special moments
THE best part about Letoya Coates' job at Salt Studios is meeting engaged couples who are excited about spending the rest of their lives together.
"I also love getting to work alongside my hubby. It's heaps of fun," she said.
Mrs Coates' husband Andrew is one of the photographers at the studio.
"In 2005, I was Andrew's second photographer and bag holder. I had a 'mummy break' in 2008 until 2010 when I returned to be a book keeper," she said.
"My background is public relations, journalism and communications, so my role evolved into studio manager."
She said an average day for her included the school run for her two primary school-aged daughters in the morning, then she was in the studio on the computer answering emails, posting blogs, doing administration duties for the studio's five photographers, answering phone calls, doing the bookkeeping, updating the website, adding social media content and having meetings with prospective clients.
When she's not working, Mrs Coates said she enjoyed long distance running and singing at her church.
She said she also loved to host friends and family at home for dinner.
Mrs Coates said she had lived in Toowoomba all her life and loved everything about the city.
"I always have and still do love the people and great community we have here," she said.
"I guess living here my whole life has made that easier - I love going to the shops and running into people you know and saying a quick hello.
"I am loving the art and music that's filled our streets over the past few years."
