House of ill repute opens this weekend

BALLINA Players' latest musical production, based on the story of a house of ill repute in Texas, opens this weekend.

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas opened on Broadway at the 46th Street Theatre on June 19, 1978 and ran for 1,584 performances.

A film version of the story was released in 1982, starring Dolly Parton as Miss Mona and Burt Reynolds as Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd.

This production of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is choreographed by Jaime Sheehan.

Written by Larry L King and Peter Masterson, and directed by Paul Belsham, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas will be staged at the Players Theatre from November 18 to December 4, Thursdays to Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm.
