HOLDEN has released a special edition Barina CD hatch with extra spec and simply called it X.

Its $2500 of extra features include Holden's MyLink infotainment, an electric sunroof, front fogs, 16-inch gunmetal alloys and Barina X decals.

Only 700 are scheduled for production, in auto or manual, and cost $1250 over the base $15,390 price.

Holden's marketing executive director, Geraldine Davys said the special edition Barina X offered high-value features at outstanding value, and would appeal to savvy drivers looking to stay connected whilst on the move.

"Barina has always been a stylish light car, and now, with the introduction of Barina X and the inclusion of MyLink, it delivers even more technology and features, without the premium price tag," said Ms Davys.

"The addition of 16 inch alloy wheels and stylish decals brings an extra level of excitement and flair to the Barina, in what is a very compelling overall package."
