WALKING across a highwire 20 storeys above the ground would make most people cringe.

But Mackay woman Kerrie Odger called it her little adventure.

As a contestant on Channel Seven's The Mole, Ms Odger competes against 11 other contestants in both mental and physical challenges.

"I wanted some sort of adventure," she said.

"I loved the intensity of trying to figure out who was The Mole, as well as the challenges.

"It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I learnt a lot from it."

Ms Odger auditioned for the show after being a fan when it first graced our screens in 2000.

"We had no heads-up what we were doing for the challenges," she said.

"We were told as we arrived. So it's as much of a shock to us as it is when everybody finds out.

"There'll be tears. You'll see me throwing a tanty on a highwire 20 storeys up."

Coming back to "normal" life was something Ms Odger had to get used to again.

"It was a shock coming home," she said.

"Everything seemed out of place because you've been completely removed from the world. Having to go back to work and doing duties around the house ... it took a couple of weeks to get used to."
