Missing Murwillumbah man, 73, found safe in Brisbane
UPDATED, Friday 9.49am: Missing Eungella man Denis Ross has been found safe and well.
He was found at Brisbane's Fortitue Valley in the early hours of Friday morning.
The 73-year-old was last seen walking on Tweed Valley Way near Stotts Island on Friday ,March 7. A Tweed Police spokesperson said he was taken to Brisbane Royal Hospital by Fortitude Valley Police officers.
Thurs 11.15am: POLICE are still searching for clues on the disappearance of 73-year-old Denis Ross of Eungella.
Tweed Byron LAC Inspector Darren Steele said a search party finished up on Wednesday afternoon without any success.
"We're asking members of the public to contact us if they have seen him, or have information about his whereabouts," Insp Steele said.
A Melbourne resident, who knows Mr Ross but asked not to be named, said Mr Ross was known to enjoy an adventure - but not returning home was definitely out of the norm.
"Most of the guys - especially in that region because it's so beautiful - they want to get out and they're always active," Mr Jones said.
"But it's not within the norm for him to not return."
Wed 1.20pm: A rescue chopper has joined the search for a man missing from the Murwillumbah area.
The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, based at Lismore, is helping police look for Denis Ross around the Stotts Island area as of about 1pm.
Initial report, Wed 10.10am: The family of a missing 73-year-old Eungella man have asked for police help in locating him.
Denis Ross, 73, was last seen walking alongside the Tweed Valley Way near Stotts Island on Friday, March 7.
He spoke briefly with police, telling them he was going to Tweed Heads but has not been seen or heard from since.
Mr Ross' family are concerned for his wellbeing due to his age and medical history.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 175cm tall, with grey hair and blue eyes.
When he was last seen Mr Ross was wearing a blue collared shirt and pants.
