UPDATE: Police have suspended the search for missing Casino man David Wood and are appealing to the public for any information on his whereabouts.

Richmond Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Matt Kehoe there had been no definite sightings of the army sapper since he left his Casino home on Wednesday, May 22.

Insp Kehoe said any member of the public who thought they may have seen Mr Wood or evidence of him, including campfires or campsites, is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page:

A SEARCH for David Wood, who went missing more than a week ago after leaving his Casino home on May 22, failed to find the army sapper yesterday.

About 50 police, soldiers, RFS and SES volunteers were assisted by the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter to search bushland near the 22-year-old's home.

Mr Wood, who has served two tours in Afghanistan, is 180cm tall, with an athletic build, short dark hair and clean shaven, was last seen wearing a brown Driza-Bone jacket.

Anyone with information about Mr Wood is urged to call Crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
