Healthy reunion

A REUNION of Ballina hospital staff will be held in Ballina on March 3-4.

Doug Stinson and a small number of previous staff members are behind the get-together.

Mr Stinson was hospital CEO from 1983 to 1993.

He said he had been "overwhelmed" by the initial response to the reunion, and has amassed more than 200 names of people who want to attend.

He would still like to hear from any others wishing to attend.

The reunion will comprise two separate functions so that people have an opportunity to catch up with old friends and colleagues by attending either or both events.

The first function will be held at the Ballina RSL Bowling Club in Canal Road on Saturday, March 3, from 6.30pm to 11.30pm.

A finger-food dinner (including prawns) will be provided and drinks can be purchased from the bar.

Partners are encouraged to attend, and tickets are now on sale at the main Ballina RSL Club Reception Desk in River Street. Tickets cost $22.

On Sunday, March 4, a family picnic day will be held at Missingham Park adjacent to the amphitheatre and the skate park.

Festivities will start around 11am and families are encouraged to attend.

The Ballina Lions Club will fire up the barbie, and sell soft drinks, tea and coffee from their van.

The Lions have offered to donate profits from the day to the Ballina Hospital Auxiliary.

Anyone interested in attending can phone Doug Stinson on 6687 7198.
