Gym runs in as new sponsor

TEAM Riverside is gearing up for Sunday's Ballina Lions Fun-Run-Walk.

A contingent of members of the Ballina gym have registered for the event which will start at Missingham Park.

Dave Westaway, the gym's owner, is a sponsor of the event and is offering various gym memberships to the winners of the different running categories.

It's the first time Riverside has been involved in the event.

This Sunday's event will be the ninth annual Ballina Lions Fun-Run-Walk.

There are 5km and 10km courses for the event starting at Missingham Park in Ballina.

The courses, which go over Missingham Bridge and follow a route along North Wall and Compton Dr, have been certified by Australian Athletics.

Registration starts at 8am with the first runners to head off at 9am.

This year's event supports the Ballina and District Riding for the Disabled Association.

Entries from Athlete's Foot at Ballina Central or at the Lions' website at http://www.ballinalions.com.
