Police chasing robber who held up servo at gunpoint

THREE people were held up at gunpoint last night in a robbery at the United Petroleum service station, near the Lismore Workers Club.

Just before 9pm last night a man, believed to be between 16-22 years of age, entered the Ballina Road business and demanded money, said Inspector Craig Ahrens of Richmond Local Area Command.

He produced a gun, believed to a pistol, and pointed it at the attendant, the manager and a customer who were all in the service station at the time, the Inspector said.

He said after the assailant received money from the cash register, he ran outside and got into a red or maroon coloured older model sedan, which was driven by another man.

The robber is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a solid build, 6ft tall, and wearing a black hooded jumper and dark pants at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information should contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
