Greens’ embarrassing find in files

LABOR was left red-faced over Friday's discovery of a 2007 media release ridiculing The Greens for raising questions about a meeting with "agents of the Chinese Government" over the sale of a major power generator.

Then-treasurer Michael Costa accused Greens MP Dr John Kaye of "watching too many episodes of the X-Files" for asking.

"I've been too busy meeting Howard Hughes and Elvis about buying the Opera House," Mr Costa said.

Fast-forward eight years, and Labor is in a very similar position to The Greens.
