Grandfather in hospital after being trapped under car

A GRANDFATHER who spent at least three days trapped under his car on a remote property in NSW remains in hospital in a critical condition.

With his dogs waiting faithfully beside him, the 76-year-old could only hope help would arrive after his car rolled on top of him and pinned him to the ground on the weekend.

Neighbours went searching for the man when his distressed daughter said she had been unable to contact him.

The man was discovered trapped under his Honda CRV conscious, but seriously injured on Tuesday and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.

He suffered internal injuries and a fractured skull.
