Grafton community supports Carroll family
GRAFTON'S generosity towards a local family down on its luck has been praised in New South Wales Parliament.
Clarence Valley MP Christopher Gulaptis paid tribute to the community's support of the Carroll family, whose 10-year-old son Sam is battling a rare form of cancer.
"Sam is the middle child of parents Adam and Angela Carroll and he has an older brother, Hugh, and younger sister, Mae," he said.
"The family are much loved by the Grafton community.
"On October 11, the townsfolk came out in droves for a trivia fundraiser to help to support their friends during this challenging time in their lives.
"I was there with 500 others who supported the Carroll family.
"It was a terrific fun night and the contribution of the Grafton community was staggering.
"Over $20,000 was raised for young Sam.
"You could travel the world and not find a more generous people than here in the Clarence Valley."
