Gold Coast mourns loss of community after third stabbing
POLICE are still appealing to the public for information about the stabbing death of a 28 year-old man at Broadbeach on Sunday, the third stabbing on the Gold Coast in a week.
But locals on Monday, the first morning of state school holidays, were questioning what had happened to their community.
The murdered man, identified on social media and Brisbane radio as Hope Island resident Max Waller, has been described as an associate of the Gold Coast Bandidos motorcycle club.
A friend found him stabbed to death in front of a Broadbeach holiday unit complex, Carmel by the Sea, just before 6am on Sunday morning.
But police believe the murder occurred elsewhere as surveillance footage captured man stumbling towards the apartment complex and collapsing on the front steps, but not the altercation that led to his death.
