NESTLED between the World Heritage-listed attractions of wet tropics rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, the Cairns region greets its early spring guests with a tropical warmth that extends beyond the climate.

The Cairns Festival aims to share the tropical lifestyle with visitors who, on arrival, are invited to soak up the culture and entertainment on offer between August 17 and September 2. Unlike any other festival in Australia, the Cairns Festival can be identified by its diverse, multi-dimensional program of free and ticketed events spanning dance, theatre, film, literary arts and collaborations.
