German chainsaw massacre moment of madness

IT was meant to be a funny prank for a viral video.

Instead it went horribly wrong.

A teenager was taken to hospital after his so-called friends tried to scare him with a chainsaw.

The 18-year-old German had been celebrating Christmas with four friends, aged 15 to 22, when they decided to give him a cruel prank as he was sleeping.

The teen had been napping in the car when he was woken by the sound of a chainsaw.

The young man is seen to instinctively leap into air and defend himself with his left which was almost severed, according to Daily Express in the UK.

The youth copying a viral video apparently did not to think to remove the blade, as was done in the original.

"The 22-year-old told us that he was sure he had switched on the chain brake. But the chain had turned," police said.

The 18-year old was rushed to hospital by ambulance for emergency surgery where his friends, two boys aged 16 and 22 and two girls aged 15 and 16, had to be treated for shock.

The 22-year-old is expected to be charged.
