Fun in space for local theatre kids

CHILDREN in Ballina got the chance for a spaceship ride for the school holidays thanks to the FunSing School Holiday workshop at Ballina Players Theatre.

The workshop, which ran for four days, included the opportunity for the kids to play in the interior of a spaceship set on stage.

The set was from the previous Ballina Players' show, Return to the Forbidden Planet, which was directed by Clem and Shelly Halpin, so the kids got to experience all the fun of performing with this fantastic state of the art set built by Ballina Players members.

The dramas for all three age groups were all written by the FunSing Directors with a Space theme in mind, organisers of the workshop said.

The children had a great time developing and performing their dramas as part of the workshop, the organisers said.
