THE Alliance Francaise French Film Festival is back for its 25th year and will once again come to Ballina as part of an Australia-wide tour.
The film festival will showcase contemporary French cinema with the screening of three late release French films.
Chinese Puzzle (Casse-tête chinois)
Chinese Puzzle is the third part of a trilogy following on from The Spanish Apartment and Russian Dolls. Xavier (Romain Duris) a writer, has followed his English ex-wife to New York after she left him, taking their two children, to live with her wealthy lover.. Because he needs American residency, Xavier enters into an arranged marriage.

The Legend of Michael Kohlhaas
An epic drama set in 16th Century France against a backdrop of feudalism in decline, Age of Uprising: The Legend of Michael Kohlhaas stars Mads Mikkelsen as a well-to-do horse merchant who goes to extremes to obtain justice after a nobleman humiliates him by stealing two of his horses.
5pm Saturday August 30.
The French Minister (Quai d'Orsay)
Alexandre Taillard de Vorms is tall and impressive, a man with style, attractive to women. He also happens to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the land of enlightenment - France. 2pm Sunday August 31.
The Alliance Francaise French Film Festival comes to Ballina Fair Cinemas on August 30-31.
