Fraser Coast suffers a 17.1% drop in visitor numbers

THE Fraser Coast recorded a 17.1% decline in domestic visitors to 524,000 in the year to December last year, according to Tourism Queensland research.

The Domestic Tourism Snapshot showed visitor expenditure dropped 13.3% and though interstate visitors increased slightly, intrastate visitation slipped 21%.

The statistics also revealed the number of holiday visitors plunged 32.1% to 233,000.
