Newrybar school fireworks fundraiser given the green light

NEWS that the annual Newrybar Public School fireworks fundraiser has been given the green light has brought a sparkle to the 27 families whose students will benefit from the funds raised.

The school recently received the news from the Roads and Maritime Services that the fireworks nights had been approved following the opening of the new Pacific Highway.

This year's Newrybar Fireworks and Fair will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 4pm.

The tradition, organised by the Newrybar School P & C, dates back more than 30 years. It's a tradition that adds to the more than 125-year history of Newrybar School.

As well as fireworks, the event will include entertainment, raffles, local produce stalls, kids activities and a Wheel of Fortune.

Funds raised go towards paying teachers for literacy groups, learning activities and halving the bus costs for school excursions and sporting activities.

Donations for prizes for the event are appreciated. Contact the school on 6687 1343.FGates open at 4pm. Tickets $5 each and $10 per family.
