Ballina fine food festival a stunner
THE Ballina Fine Wine and Food Festival, now in its seventh year, attracted record crowds on Sunday.
Event director Col Lee said the Ballina Jockey Club had never seen anything like it.
"All weekend I've heard nothing but accolades, and the weather has been superb" he said.
"I've never seen exhibitors put in so much effort. The standard is top-shelf and the exhibitors are so happy with the turnout."
At 3.30pm on Sunday, some stallholders had run out of stock, such was the demand for the sumptuous variety of local fine food and wine.
"We've seen a great crowd and beautiful weather," he said.
"The entertainment from Rachael Beck has been a highlight.
"Rotary and everyone involved are so appreciative of everyone who has gone above and beyond for this local event.
'We've had a full car park all day and have had buses come in and out all day chock-a-block full," he said.
Mr Lee said the gala night was also a "stunning success".
"Everything has just gone over so well," he said.
"This event, organised by Rotary, is a Ballina success story."
