Final line-up completed after Sydney win

FOOTBALL: Sydney FC will take on Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium on Friday night in the first elimination final after a 2-1 win over Perth Glory at Allianz Stadium last night.

Richard Garcia scored the winner with the last kick of the game after a delightful through ball from Alessandro Del Piero, who also set up Sydney's first goal in the opening half which was scored by Terry Antonis - a stunning right-foot shot from long range.

Perth equalised from a corner on the stroke of half-time after Rostyn Griffiths stabbed home from close range but the home side secured the three points it needed in the dying seconds to secure a place in the finals.

The result ended Newcastle Jets' hopes of a place in the semi-finals.

The Jets needed Perth to win by two clear goals for them to make the playoffs.

The win secured Sydney FC fifth place in the final table with Adelaide United slipping to sixth.

The Reds still made the playoffs and will play Central Coast at Bluetongue Stadium on Saturday.
