A film feast for local Hunger Games fans
FANS of The Hunger Games franchise are up for a feast with Ballina Fair Cinemas showing the first film just before the final installment goes on screen a minute after midnight next Thursday, November 19.
Ballina Fair Cinemas manager Paul McGrath confirmed the two Mockingjay films will be shown that night.
The Hunger Games - Mockingjay Part 1, which originally premiered last year, will be screened at 9.30pm on Wednesday, November 18, and will run for 125 minutes.
After a short break, The Hunger Games - Mockingjay Part 2 will be screened at 00:01am Thursday.
"The distributors made the films available due to unprecendeted interested by fans," Ms McGrath said.
The film will also have a further four screenings on November 19, in the afternoon at 1.30pm, 4pm, 6.30pm and 9pm.
In this final film, as the war of Panem escalates to the destruction of other districts by the Capitol, Katniss Everdeen, the reluctant leader of the rebellion, must bring together an army against President Snow, while all she holds dear hangs in the balance.
The film is stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, Liam Hemsworth as Gale, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch, Donald Sutherland as President Snow, Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin and Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket.
