Father forced son to have sex
A ROCKHAMPTON man forced his 14-year-old son to have sex with a prostitute to "sort him out", a court heard yesterday.
Crown prosecutor Claire Kelsey said the man took his tearful boy to a motel room where he left him with the prostitute and told him if he didn't have sex with her he would be flogged.
The father, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to exposing his son to an indecent act and two counts of unlawfully procuring his son to be involved in an indecent act in the District Court in Rockhampton yesterday.
The alleged crimes came to light when the man told a police officer what he had done.
Detective Sergeant Christine Knapp testified the man told her he believed his 14-year-old son might be sexually abusing his 10-year-old son so he hired a prostitute to "sort him out".
The court heard the father believed his teenage son was also acting in a "sexual way" toward his older sister.
Ms Kelsey said the father organised for a prostitute to meet himself and his son at a North Rockhampton motel in late 2007.
She said the teenager was crying and did not want to go.
The boy's grandfather testified the man was drunk at the time and would not listen to him or the teen's mother when they tried to dissuade him.
Ms Kelsey said the father told the prostitute to give his son "the works".
She told the jury it was for them to decide if anything happened between the teen and the prostitute, and if it was unlawful.
The court heard the father left his son in the room with the prostitute and the pair sat on the bed and talked.
Ms Kelsey said the man walked back into the motel room and told his son if he did not have sex he would be flogged.
She said the teen then had oral and penetrative sex with the prostitute.
The trial continues today.
