Emotional plea by Martinez family for answers from public
IT has been a continuing 12 months of mystery and pain for the Martinez and Barnett families of Rockhampton.
All they want is for the mystery of Robert and Chantal's disappearance to be solved.
Last Friday marked the one-year anniversary since family members had seen Robert Martinez.
On the Facebook page Help Find Robert Martinez and Chantal Barnett a family member posted the following message: "One year ago tonight was the last time I seen you, spoke to you. Didn't get to say I love you or hug you or goodbye.
"I fell asleep on the couch, you didn't want to wake me, I miss you so bad everyday... this is so very wrong.
"Robert, we just want you home as do Chantal's family and her kids... they miss her so.
"If anyone has any more info, even the slightest, please do the right thing. This is hurting so many people... hold on and pray."
A stream of supportive tributes to the missing pair flowed after the post was made on Friday.
Here is what a couple of Facebook users said:
Jenni Day-Stevens: May you find comfort in knowing so many people will do their best to help them (Robert and Chantal) come home safely.
Karina Heny: Stay strong and never give up hope. Prayers and thoughts go out to both families that you get answers really soon.
Early last month, a forensic squad and other police units found clues at Parkhurst Country Club's cabin 26 that could help in the investigation.
Police have always maintained that they believe they have spoken to someone who knows something about the pair's disappearance.
Rockhampton CIB boss Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Moon said police would have a one-year media update on the Martinez-Barnett investigation about March 15.
