Updated, 6.08pm:

TWEED Valley Way is now open after a fatal motorbike crash earlier today.

A police spokeswoman said a male motorbike rider died at the scene. 

The man is yet to be formally identified.

Initial report, 11.36am:

TWEED Valley Way at Crabbes Creek Road in Yelgun is now closed following a fatal crash this morning.

Details are still emerging but it is believed a male motorbike rider crashed on the Tweed Valley Way just south of Crabbes Creek Rd.

However, Ambulance media confirmed a person has died at the scene.

It is understood a nurse was quickly on the scene.

Police responded to the code red call at 10.45am.

Paramedics arrived on scene about 11.10am.

Motorists can use the Pacific Highway as an alternative route.

Emergency services are still at the scene.
