Elliot, Silver to open community centre

THE Lennox Head Cultural & Community Centre will be officially opened on Friday, May 20, at 1pm.
The Federal Member for Richmond, Justine Elliot, Elliott, and Ballina Shire Mayor, Cr Phillip Silver, will do the honours.
This opening follows the handover of the site to Ballina Shire Council from the building construction company last week.
The public can have a look inside, with tours being held from 1pm to 3pm.
However, the building won’t be operational for some time after the opening.

Lennox Head Library staff will still be in the process of relocating from their existing building and council is still reviewing applications for use of the main hall and meeting rooms located within the centre.

Council’s community facilities co-ordinator, Jordan Robinson, said: “With a combination of meeting rooms, an activity room, children’s area, the library, a skatepark and a main hall that provides a facility for both sporting and cultural events, the Lennox Head Cultural and Community Centre will add significantly to the social fabric of Lennox Head.”
