Easternwell service wins contract

EASTERNWELL announced today that it has secured a A$20.8 million contract to support Santos' GLNG Project.

The contract is a renewal for the provision of full camp facility management including catering and housekeeping services throughout the Surat and Cooper Basins.

The three-year contract commenced this month and includes two one-year extension options which, if exercised, will take the total value to A$34.6 million.

Easternwell previously managed a number of camps in the Surat Basin and Cooper Basin for Santos and under this new contract camp numbers will increase.

Easternwell's Energy CEO Warren Willmington said: "This is a great win for Easternwell.  Camp Management is an essential part of the services we offer and it is a credit to the team that we won this contract.  Santos is a long term client of ours and we're pleased we can continue to provide great service through our camp management services."

President Santos GLNG Project Mark Macfarlane said: "We are proud to have been working with Easternwell, a local Queensland business, for more than 20 years.

"This contract shows the diverse capabilities of Easternwell which late last year also secured a $102 million well servicing contract for the Santos GLNG Project.  Easternwell is a good example of a local company that is continuing to expand its workforce and benefit from the expanding coal seam gas industry."

Easternwell also manages camps for Lucas Drilling, WDS and Tom Browne Drilling throughout the Surat and Cooper Basins.

General Manager for Camp Management Marco Waanders said: "I believe we have won this contract because of our focus on HSE management, our emphasis on healthy food options and the continual training and development of our people.  Our clients appreciate that we are always looking for innovative ways we can save money while improving the quality of life for crews in the field."

Easternwell needs to employ an additional 50 people to fill new positions including chefs, camp/facility managers and housekeepers and is actively recruiting.
