Divers to search for missing teen
POLICE divers have been called in to search for a teenage boy who is missing presumed drowned after jumping into a waterhole near Drake yesterday afternoon.
The 17-year-old was swimming with friends at Boonoo Boonoo Falls, in the Boonoo Boonoo National Park, when he jumped from a ledge into a fast flowing waterfall.
He failed to resurface and emergency services were called to the scene but he was unable to be located.
There was a strong current at the time of the teenager's disappearance and low visibility in the water.
Police divers are expected to begin their search this afternoon.
