Johnny Depp told: Dogs need to 'bugger off' or be put down

HOLLYWOOD hearthrob Johnny Depp has just over two days to have his Yorkshire Terriers Pistol and Boo sent back to their home in the United States or they will be put down.

The ultimatum was given to the star, filming the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film on the Gold Coast, after he brought the dogs into Australia without going through proper quarantine procedures.

Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce said the pampered pooches were discovered by the government after Depp was caught taking them to a groomer.

He said they now needed to "buffer off" back to the US.

Mr Joyce singled out the beloved actor in Canberra on Thursday morning as he talked about quarantine laws needing to be enforced to protect Australia from outbreaks of disease.

"Which comes to the next issue, which is a gentleman by the name of John Christopher Depp, 51 years old. AKA Jack Sparrow," Mr Joyce said.

The Minster said the actor had "snuck them in", breaking quarantine laws.

"Now Mr Depp has to either take his dogs back to California or we're going to have to euthanise them. He's now got about 50 hours left to remove the dogs

"He can put them on the same charter jet he flew out on and fly back out of our nation.

"It's time that Pistol and Boo bugger off back to the United States. After that I don't expect to be invited to the opening of the Pirates of Caribbean."
