Zabel follows O'Grady in admitting to drug use in cycling
CYCLING: Just days after veteran Australian rider Stuart O'Grady admitted to doping, another cyclist has revealed he also took performance enhancing drugs.
Ex-German sprint star Erik Zabel, 43, who won 12 stages of the Tour De France before retiring in 2008, admitted to "many years" of doping, according to German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
He said he used banned drugs and illegal methods between 1996 and 2003.
Zabel, who like O'Grady was last week named in a French Senate inquiry as a drugs offender, said he took EPO as well as using cortisone, a steroid hormone.
