Italian Nibali's lead strong heading into final stage

ITALIAN Vincenzo Nibali has worn the Giro d'Italia leader's pink jersey since stage 8, almost two weeks ago, and that did not look like changing ahead of the 21st and final stage overnight.

Nibali, who finished third in last year's Tour de France, had a four-minute, 43-second lead over Colombian Rigoberto Uran before the 197km ride into Brescia.

Aussie Cadel Evans was third, more than five minutes off the pace.
