Cadel Evans still on the heels of Nibali in Italy

AUSSIE Cadel Evans was battling to keep warm, and stay hot on the heels of Giro d'Italia race leader Vincenzo Nibali ahead of stage 15 overnight.

Italian Nibali led second-placed Evans by a minute and 26 seconds heading into an Alps stage shortened because of snow, rain and fog.

Nibali's compatriot Mauro Santambrogio won stage 14.
