Crozier has dual role with Trojans

POPULAR Lennox Head five-eighth Paul Crozier will also take the role of club president this year as the Trojans prepare for the Far North Coast rugby union season.

Crozier was part of a core group of players that helped lead the first grade team to five consecutive premierships between 2008-2012.

They were knocked out in the semi-finals last year and are keen to bounce back in 2014.

"We've been sweating it out at training since late January, with good numbers and plenty of energy and enthusiasm among the boys," Crozier said.

"The Under-18 competition has been reinstated and we are excited to have this really important age group aboard for the 2014 season.

"It was pleasing to see so many younger players participating and gaining experience at a senior level in the Crescent Head 7s tournament."

The Trojans start the season with an away game against Yamba on April 5 and are at home the following Saturday against Bangalow.

Junior registrations start tonight between 5pm-6pm at Williams Reserve, Lennox Head.

There will be another sign-on next Wednesday with junior grades from Under-7s to Under-16s. For more information, contact the club's junior co-ordinator, Richard Walkom, on 0414 881 684.

The club will also host the fourth round of the ARU Junior Gold Cup competition when North Coast takes on Western Australia in Under-15 and Under-17 competition on March 9.
