Kevin Pietersen pokes fun at English coaching debacle

KEVIN Pietersen has poked fun at the debacle surrounding his non-selection for England, by posting on Twitter that he had applied for the England coaching job.

A day after being told by new director of cricket Andrew Strauss he was deemed surplus to requirements, Pietersen wrote, "Morning all, after a pretty bad day yesterday I've given it a lot of thought overnight. I'm applying for the coaching job! #StraussLogic".

Pietersen was set to rejoin the IPL with Hyderabad but a calf injury is set to keep him out for at least two weeks.
