Couple arrested while having sex in stolen car

A 25 year-old woman and a 16 year-old boy will have some very awkward explaining to do after police busted them having sex in a stolen car on Saturday afternoon.

It's alleged that in the early hours of Saturday morning the 16 year-old male was involved in a break in at a residential housing complex on McCormack St, in Manunda, Cairns.

Police say the boy stole a wallet and a set of car keys - which he used to take the vehicle in question.

Later that day it's alleged the boy picked up a 25 year-old woman and drove her around in the stolen car, however, what the pair didn't know is that an off duty police officer had spotted them and followed them to Macilwraith St in the neighbouring suburb of Manoora.

The pair parked the car at the end of the street and...

When on duty officers arrived they say they found the pair in a "compromising position."

They have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and the boy is also facing charges of burglary, attempted burglary, possession of suspected stolen property and unlicensed driving.
