Council looks at indoor pool plan

BALLINA Shire Council will look at the possibility of building a 25m indoor pool at the current Ballina Memorial Pool site.

Cr Sue Meehan put forward the idea at last week's council meeting.

While the future of the indoor pool at Ballina Fair is yet to be decided - a demolition application is with council - Cr Meehan said it was "urgent" councillors knew if an indoor facility could be built at the council-owned pool site as the councillors will soon determine which infrastructure projects they want to see completed in this term of council.

"Council has previously resolved to examine funding options for the redevelopment of the Ballina and Alstonville swimming pools," she said.
