Coopersmith claims victory in Lennox Longboard Classic

COMPETITION regular Aaron Coopersmith took out the open division of the 2014 Lennox Longboard Classic.

Coopersmith is a member of the Lennox Longboarders and has surfed at the event a number of times over the years.

He also finished second in the over-30s which was won by Byron Bay surfer Gareth Donovan.

Gold Coast surfer Joel Tilley came second and also won the loggers division.

Defending champion Ben Dickens finished fourth in the open men's while Lennox Head surfer Scott Channon was third.

It is the 17th time the event has been held with about 100 surfers competing.

Mel Mott won the open women's while Callum Glover was crowned junior champion.

Ballina surfer Eric Walker won the over-50s.
