EARLIER: Commonwealth Bank clients stranded by 'technical' issues

COMMONWEALTH Bank customers are fuming after being left stranded by "technical issues" currently plaguing the financial giant.

It is believed to be affecting the bank's ATMs and mobile phone apps.

The bank has published a pre-emptive apology on both its website and official Twitter account this morning,

A spokesman for the Commonwealth would not confirm how the glitches were affecting customers

In a statement, the bank wrote:

"We are currently experiencing intermittent technical issues with our systems.

"We apologise for the inconvenience to customers.

"The cause of the problem is under urgent investigation and we are working to have full services restored as a matter of priority."

Earlier this year, the CBA suffered a major network glitch that left customers unable to use ATMs, eftpos machines, phone services or bank online.
